At least 22 people were killed in a crash between a truck and a bus this morning on a highway in the southeastern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, the Associated Press reported.
The state fire service, which arrived at the scene of the incident, said 13 people were taken to a hospital in the city of Teofilo Otoni. The bus reportedly had left Sao Paulo and was carrying 45 passengers.
Authorities said the vehicle had a flat tire, then the driver lost control and crashed into a truck. A car carrying three passengers also collided with the bus, but all three survived.
Rescue teams are working at the scene of the crash and are continuing to recover victims, a fire department official said.
