US President Donald Trump said today that he will announce new tariffs on imports of cars, aluminum and pharmaceuticals very soon, Reuters reported.
The United States will need these goods and products if serious problems arise, including military conflicts, Trump told reporters at the White House.
"All countries are robbing us", the US president said while chairing a meeting of his administration.
US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick was also present at the meeting. He said that on April 2 - the date set by Trump for the entry into force of a number of tariffs, the "Foreign Revenue Service" will begin work of the United States.
Latnik made an analogy with the US tax agency, which is known as the "Internal Revenue Service", Reuters points out.
For his part, Trump also commented on the activities of the Federal Reserve Board (FRB) of the United States.
I would like the FRB to lower interest rates, Trump said, referring to the main interest rate set by the institution.
