The Kremlin announced today that a meeting between the presidents of the United States - Donald Trump, and Russia - Vladimir Putin is necessary, but Putin has no planned trip to the Middle East in the middle of this month, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov in response to a journalist's question about whether a Trump-Putin meeting in Saudi Arabia is possible, the agency specifies. Trump plans to visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE between May 13 and 16.
Peskov said that organizing such a meeting requires a lot of effort and there is nothing concrete at this stage.
At the same time, the Kremlin spokesman said that Germany's decision to designate the party "Alternative for Germany" as an "extremist organization" shows that Europe is full of restrictive measures against political forces and individuals that do not fit into the current situation.
Dmitry Peskov also expressed Russia's concern about tensions between India and Pakistan, which have risen after border violence at the end of last month. The Kremlin spokesman pointed out that Moscow highly values its relations with both Delhi and Islamabad.
