A fragile truce held between India and Pakistan on Sunday after overnight fighting between the two sides, and US President Donald Trump said he would work to find a solution to Kashmir, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
The arch-rivals were locked in four days of intense gunfire, the heaviest clash in nearly three decades, with missiles and drones targeting military sites and installations, killing dozens of people.
A ceasefire agreement was reached after diplomacy and pressure from the US, but Within hours, artillery fire erupted in Indian Kashmir, the epicenter of much of the fighting.
Explosions from air defense systems echoed in towns near the border, as they had on the previous two nights.
Late on Saturday, India said Pakistan had violated a ceasefire agreement and that Indian forces had been instructed to "deal firmly" with any violation.
In response, Pakistan said it was committed to the ceasefire and blamed India for the violations.
By dawn, the fighting and explosions reported overnight had subsided.
