Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the world is at a critical crossroads for silencing the weapons in Ukraine and forming a basis for peace, TRT Haber reported, quoted by BTA.
"As in the past, we contribute to all efforts to find a solution with the priority of a comprehensive ceasefire", Erdogan said at the European Political Community summit in Tirana.
The Turkish president spoke in Tirana, while in Istanbul, delegations from Ukraine and Russia held talks in the presence of Turkish representatives.
"For the first time since March 2022, an important opportunity has opened to stop the bloodshed. In fact, negotiations are currently underway in Istanbul between Russia, Ukraine and Turkey under the chairmanship of our foreign minister. I believe that it should not be wasted," Erdogan said.
He said that Turkey relies on the support of all its partners to keep the channels of dialogue between Ukraine and Russia open for the sake of a speedy peace.
"As I have always said, there will be no losers in a just peace. Turkey will continue to contribute to this process," Erdogan added.
