Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today that everyone is "emotionally overloaded" in response to US President Donald Trump's tweet on his social media account "Truth Social" that Russian President Vladimir Putin is "completely crazy," Reuters reported, BTA reported.
“I've always had a very good relationship with Putin, but something has happened to him. He has gone completely INSANE“, Trump wrote on “Truth Social” late last night. Previously, the US president expressed deep dissatisfaction with the ongoing Russian air strikes against Ukraine.
"We are truly grateful to the Americans and President Trump for their assistance in organizing and starting the negotiation process," said Peskov, when asked to comment on the words of the US head of state.
"Of course, at the same time, this is a very key moment, which is associated, naturally, with emotional overload in absolutely everyone and with emotional reactions. We are closely monitoring all reactions, while at the same time President Putin is making those decisions that are necessary to ensure the safety of our country," the Kremlin spokesman told media representatives.
He added that work is underway on the Russian proposal for a possible peace agreement with Ukraine, but a draft proposal has not yet been prepared.
In addition, Peskov denied that Moscow had any connection with the arson attacks on British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's properties. As a rule, such accusations are "false, unfounded and often ridiculous", he said.
