China has never supplied lethal weapons to any party in the conflict in Ukraine and strictly controls dual-use equipment, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in response to Ukrainian allegations of Chinese supplies to Russian military plants, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
"Ukraine knows this very well, and China firmly opposes groundless accusations and political manipulation", said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning.
Ukraine's foreign intelligence chief Oleg Ivashchenko said that China has supplied a number of important products to 20 Russian military plants.
A few days ago, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, in a telephone conversation with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, called on Beijing to support peace efforts in Ukraine, Agence France-Presse reported. During the conversation, he stressed his "desire with Xi to work together to address global challenges."
"The two leaders discussed Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine. The Chancellor reported on the joint efforts of Europe and the United States to achieve a rapid ceasefire. He called for these efforts to be supported," the German government said in a statement.
