Fifteen Russian soldiers were captured by the Ukrainian Airborne Forces as part of an operation in Sumy Region, carried out in coordination with neighboring units, Ukrinform reported, citing a post on the “Facebook“ of the Airborne Forces Command, BTA reported.
Most of the captured servicemen are from the Russian 810th and 155th Separate Marine Brigades - units known for their notorious cruelty towards captured Ukrainian soldiers. These brigades subjected prisoners of war to inhumane treatment, such as psychological violence and threats, Ukrinform reports.
The prisoners of war were provided with the necessary medical and psychological assistance and it is possible that they will later be exchanged for Ukrainian servicemen in Russian captivity.
Ukrinform recalls that servicemen from the “Chervona Kalina” brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine also recently captured a group of Russian soldiers in the Pokrovsk region.
