Pope Leo XIV has called on believers around the world to pray for peace in the Holy Land, Ukraine and other regions of the world where wars are being waged, SIR (Servizio Informazione Religiosa) reported.
“As our Earth continues to be wounded by the wars in the Holy Land, in Ukraine and in many other areas [...], I invite all believers to dedicate August 22 to fasting and prayer“, the pope said during his weekly audience at the Vatican.
May believers ask God “to grant us peace and justice and to wipe away the tears of those who suffer because of ongoing armed conflicts“, the Holy Father urged father.

Trump promised that US ground forces would not be deployed in Ukraine, but provided little other information about the scope of the US security guarantees, while he pressed for an end to Russia's war against its neighbour.
