Hungary has repeatedly offered Russia and Ukraine to hold a summit in Budapest in order to resolve the conflict. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Péter Szijjarto, quoted by the TASS agency, reports Focus.
His statement comes after reports that Budapest is being considered as a possible venue for negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and US President Donald Trump.
“It makes sense to comment on such rumors only if they are plausible. As for Budapest, they are plausible“, Szijjarto emphasized in an interview for the program “The Hour of the Fighters“ on YouTube.
He recalled that the Hungarian government has repeatedly offered its territory for negotiations and that this offer remains valid. “Notify us even an hour before arrival and we will be ready to guarantee fair, safe and equal conditions for all parties in Hungary“, the foreign minister said.
