A Polish Air Force F-16 fighter jet crashed during an air show rehearsal in the city of Radom in central Poland, killing the pilot, a government spokesman said, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
Polish media reported that the plane crashed on the runway at around 8:30 p.m. Bulgarian time and damaged it. The Radom air show scheduled for this weekend has been canceled.
Polish government spokesman Adam Szlapka confirmed the pilot's death on the "Ex" social media platform, but did not give further details. Poland's National Defense Minister Wladyslaw Koszyniak-Kamisz is on his way to the crash site, the spokesman added.
