US President Donald Trump today again called on the radical Palestinian group „Hamas“ to release all Israeli hostages still in the Gaza Strip, Reuters reported, BTA reports.
According to the head of state, this would lead to an immediate end to the war in the coastal enclave.
„I am telling „Hamas“ to release all 20 hostages IMMEDIATELY (not 2, or 5, or 7!) and the situation will change quickly. IT WILL END!“, Trump wrote in a post on his own social network “Truth Social“.
The military conflict in the Gaza Strip began on October 7, 2023, when “Hamas“ carried out a surprise cross-border attack on Israel. According to Israeli authorities, about 1,200 people were killed at that time, and 251 people were kidnapped and held hostage in Gaza.
According to the Health Ministry, controlled by “Hamas“, the number of victims in the enclave as a result of the Israeli offensive has already exceeded 63,000.
