South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will attend an extraordinary BRICS summit, which will be held via video conference, the official representative of South African President Vincent Magwena said.
“Ramaphosa will participate in the BRICS summit on September 8, which will be held via video conference“, Magwena said. The meeting was initiated by Brazil.
Preparations for the extraordinary summit have been underway for more than a month. As part of the preparations, telephone conversations have been held between the leaders of a number of BRICS countries. During these talks, the situation in the global economy and the possible consequences of the US tariff policy for it were discussed.
The previous BRICS summit was held on July 6-7 in Rio de Janeiro. It was chaired by Brazil.
